This was excellent and true and hard. I was born in Bozeman and grew up in Belgrade in the 1980s. I feel so much for this family and am more determined than ever to make sure Montana stays affordable for real people doing normal work. I hope the Montana legislature is listening (inclusionary zoning is only one tool but we need all the tools we can get) but if not let's make sure stories like this get to them. Sympathies from Whitefish, Sean. We hear you.

We have a real housing issue in Bozeman. It’s really sad when someone has a budget over a half million dollars and can’t find a house. Now let that sink in Bozeman.... If he can’t find a house how in the hell can line level employees that support our tourism, restaurants, hotels, and shopping supposed to find housing? I know of countless very qualified manger employees that would be a great asset to our community that had to turn down a job offer because they couldn’t find an apartment to rent or house to buy. If this continues we will have small businesses shut down due to no staff. Bozeman needs to fix our housing issue now we are already behind.
